I snapped a few photos in the back yard tonight.

Memorial Day 2011.

Last night my family and I reacted to a tornado watch in our area our power flickered on and off.  I thought to myself “self, better hope you don’t lose power!”  Then again…there’s something about adversity and lacking that builds foundations within people.  Some of the most loving and giving people i’ve known were residents of the USSR; lacking basic essentials and freedoms for most of their lives.

Rewinding further I consider the living conditions of the Soldiers in the Civil War.  Some of those amenities are pictured below.  These are replications (for the most part, I assume) of how those Soldiers lived, fought, and died.  While carrying a certain romanticized appeal, how many of us would last a month living without electricity and the luxuries it affords.

Maybe that’s the appeal of camping – getting back to our basic necessities for a period of time.  More each week, my mind is occupied by thoughts of ‘roughing it’.   Since returning from Iraq, the things I want aren’t as dual-labelled as things “(I think) I need”.

Below you’ll find an assortment of photos, in no particular order, I have taken of my daily driver.   If you’d like to arrange photos of your ride, just get in touch with me.   Generally I charge $100 to show up for group events, 3 hours max – then per photo, or lump sum for a photo CD (generally several hundred .jpg images).  Options include artistic impressions of the images (what I’ve done below – all would be in that category).   Just holler – am flexible.

Car and Driver held a 10-best Beauty Shots competition.  Of the entries my car got the most page space.  This is a print-out of what the page WOULD have looked like if C&D went ahead with the publication. That page was sold to Advertising.

Been slacking on getting things worked out with this blog.  Having technical problems and haven’t sought help with enough consistency.  Will attempt to get this site up and running ASAP.  I hope to put together price packages for various photo sessions and provide an online means to purchase those.
